New Year’s Eve with the whole team on La Palma

Silvesternacht in Santa Cruz

Shipshape in December

From 10 December 2024 I spent another week alone on board. This time it was mainly work: I cleaned ME from bow to stern, scrubbed the teak deck and got everything ready. Because we had something big planned.

New Year’s Eve with the whole team

As a thank-you for the difficult time behind us, our company invited all employees and partners to La Palma for a week over New Year.

The New Year’s Eve party was great – and there was double reason to celebrate: the new year, and the fact that the problems in the company were finally behind us. Afterwards we rented cars and explored the island together. We saw a lot and had a wonderful week together.

And there was an extra highlight on top: on 2 January there was snow up on the Roque de los Muchachos – snowball fights and snow angels on the Canary Islands, none of us had expected that!

One more week for the two of us

Steffi and I stayed a week longer than our colleagues and had ME all to ourselves. On 5 January, of course, there was the big Three Kings parade in Santa Cruz again – I didn’t want to miss it for anything.

On 18 January 2025 the two of us flew home again – and once more we had to leave ME on her own for a while.
