On 12 April 2026 Steffi and I flew back to Fuerteventura. At the same time my godson Frederik was on the island with his wife Manu and little Helena. The three of them had asked us beforehand whether we would be there too – but we said no. Because we had a surprise planned.
The keg coupler trap
Martin needed a keg coupler for his bar to connect a barrel. I had given it to Frederik to bring along – he was supposed to hand it over to Martin. And so we set it up: one evening Frederik came to the marina to deliver the coupler. Martin took him to his boat on some pretext – and the way there led right past ME. That’s when he saw us!
He was over the moon. We celebrated the reunion properly, talked a lot and laughed a lot – I think Frederik only got home at four in the morning.
Lovely days with Manu and Helena
In the days that followed we had a wonderful time with Frederik, Manu and little Helena. We went out in the jet boat – which had been repaired in the meantime, since we had brought the spare part along –, had barbecues and meals on board and went out to eat in Morro Jable. A great time!
On 17 April we were already flying home again – this time we were only there for a week. But we’ll be back soon!
