On 29 October 2025 we headed back to Morro Jable – for the next men’s trip with Michi and Norbert. As always, we rented a car at the airport and drove down south.
This time we didn’t have to go shopping at all: Mercadona delivers straight to the boat – a fantastic service! When we arrived, everything we needed was already there, and we could get going right away.
Before casting off I of course gave the mast a quick check – from the very top, naturally. 😉

Two fishing rods for almost 1,000 euros
Michi had a great idea: he finally wanted to do some proper fishing – bottom fishing rather than just trolling behind the boat. So he decided on the spot to give me a fishing rod as a present. We went into a tackle shop in Morro Jable and got such good advice that we came out with two new rods – having spent almost 1,000 euros on fishing gear.
So the task was clear: we had to catch something on this trip! George and the guys from the jet ski rental had a good laugh at us when we cast off on 30 October. But we hadn’t even quite rounded the Morro Jable lighthouse, heading towards Gran Tarajal, when we got our first bite – and of course we posted the photo straight away.
Norbert and Michi then prepared the fish perfectly – that’s what success tastes like!
Party time in Gran Tarajal
At anchor in Gran Tarajal, our nightly parties with the boombox were of course a must. This time Norbert was the DJ – and I’m sure the boats next to us were absolutely thrilled with our choice of music. Once again it went on until the middle of the night!
In between we took the dinghy into the harbour, did the usual chores, got rid of our rubbish, went out to eat and had a look around the little town. A thoroughly lovely trip – we had loads of fun again.
On 4 November the men’s trip came to an end, and I took Michi and Norbert to the airport.
