From 23 June to 14 July 2025 Steffi and I were back on Gran Canaria together – three weeks in which we did an awful lot.
Once around the island
With a rental car, and together with Martin and Conny, we explored the whole island once more: Maspalomas, Puerto de Mogán and, up in the mountains, the villages with their cave dwellings – simply dreamlike, absolutely amazing! Particularly impressive was the Barranco de las Vacas – also known as the “Grand Canyon of Gran Canaria”: a narrow gorge of glowing orange sandstone that we clambered around in. And of course the dunes and the lagoon of Maspalomas were a must.
We also went back to the waterfall – but it had dried up. So instead we fed a few geckos.
An afternoon with Bernhard
We also met up with Bernhard again. We sat down together in the afternoon and talked about everything under the sun until 9 or 10 in the evening – fascinating as always, simply great.
